Remote Custom Profiling Service for RGB inkjet printers
Did you know that every printer has individual characteristics? Each printer is individual, as each machine is produced within manufacturers tolerances. When you installed your printer, you will have automatically installed a series of 'generic profiles' supplied by your printer manufacturer. These generic profiles are usually created by profiling a sample range of machines and then averaged. Not only that, but each manufacturer, usually only supplied profiles for it's own paper supplies. If you want to change paper or ink, then the profiles will be wrong, and you won't produce accurate results.
Custom profiling for your specific printer and paper combination will produce the best possible results.
The Colourtools Remote Profiling service offers you the opportunity to have custom profiles created for your specific installation taking into account all the variables that can change your printing results: printer, paper, inks and resolution.
How does it work?
When you place an order for remote profiles, we will send you by email an series of files including a full instruction file and several images for you to print out on your printer/paper/resolution combination.
Send us these printouts in the mail, and within 48 hours of receipt we will email you your own custom ICC profiles.
All profiles are created using GretagMacbeth ProfileMaker 5 Pro software and GretagMacbeth professional spectrophotometers to ensure the highest possible standard.
What about if I use a RIP?
The remote profiling service is only suitable for inkjet printers that print directly from an appication, such as Photoshop. If you print using a RIP, such as Onyx, Best, Efi or PosterJet, then we can still offer you a full profiling service, but this must be carried out on your premises. How do I order?
You will need an individual ICC profile for each combination of printer, paper and resolution. Decide the number of profiles you need and place your order here. Within 24 hours of receiving your order, you will receive your instruction and graphics files by email.
What does it cost?
AS you will see from our order page, an individual profile costs £35.00 plus VAT, but additional profiles produced at the same time are available at a discount, dropping to only £22.50 each for four or more.
There is also a delivery charge of £9.99 (incl. VAT) per order. This charge includes emailing the original files to you, emailing the ICC profile to you once we have completed it, creating a back up on CD which we will post to you, and storage of your profile for up to 12 months from point of delivery in case you need a further backup. If you wish us to keep your back up in our archives after 12 months has elapsed, there will be an additional charge of £10.00 p.a.plus VAT, payable in advance, per order (not per profile).
