Custom Remote Profiling FAQ's
Can I use the remote ICC profiling service if I print using a RIP?
When you print directly to your printer from your application (e.g. Phroshop or Elements) then your data is sent out to the printer in RGB format - irrelevant of what inks are used in your printer!
However, once you use a RIP, the information is converted, usually into CMYK, and this needs a totally different profiling method.
We can provide profiling for RIP based systems, but will only undertake this work with an on-site visit. Profiling a RIP based system is quite involved, and usually requires our engineers to undertake a series of measurements including ink usage and linearisation as well as profiling the colour.
RIP profiling will take a minimum of one full working day. Click here for full details of our RIP Profiling service.
