General Colour Management FAQ's

How do I remove Adobe Gamma (Windows systems)?

Before you use a profiling system to create an ICC profile for your monitor, it is important that you remove the Adobe Gamma application from your system. This is true for all the main profiling systems: Pantone Spyder2, Monaco Optix and GretagMacbeth Eye-One.

The files can be found in the following location:

Disk drive > Documents & Settings > All Users > Start Menu > Programs > Start Up > Adobe Gamma Loader - You can navigate to this location and delete the file.

The easiest way to remove Adobe Gamma however is to:

Right mouse click on the Start Menu, select Open (or Open All Users). Double click on Programs and then double click on Startup. Find the file Adobe Gamma (or Adobe Gamma Loader.exe), right click on it and choose Delete.

Then, restart your system, install your new software and profile your system.
